Registration Open for Module 2 of the “Change Here: Europe Starts with Communities” Programme
Participants of the educational and practical programme “Change Here: Europe Starts with Communities” are now invited to apply for Module 2. Registration is open until 17 August (inclusive).
This stage follows several months of learning, including 16 online sessions, practical assignments, and a final forum. During Module 1, participants explored topics such as European integration, community development, leadership, partnerships, communication, strategic and spatial planning, and modern approaches to mobility.
Module 2 marks the next practical stage of the programme. Following a competitive selection process, 40 participants will continue their journey through a two-month project laboratory.
Participants will work in one of four thematic areas:
- Ecology and sustainable development;
- Energy efficiency;
- Spatial planning;
- Transport and mobility.
Together with sector experts, participants will examine specific challenges faced by their communities or organisations, analyse their root causes and impacts, collect relevant data, develop potential solutions, and prepare comprehensive project documentation.
Module 2 will include practical workshops, regular mentoring sessions with experienced practitioners, written feedback on interim project outputs, and peer learning across thematic groups. The programme will conclude with the public presentation and defence of participants’ projects.
Participation in Module 2 will enable participants to complete the full project development cycle—from identifying a problem to producing a ready-to-implement project proposal. Participants will receive:
- A completed project that can be presented to local authorities, partners, and donors;
- Practical experience in problem analysis, solution planning, and project design;
- Regular professional feedback from an experienced mentor;
- New professional connections and opportunities to exchange experience with participants from other communities and organisations;
- Experience presenting a project publicly before representatives of local governments, civil society organisations, media, and potential partners.
The expected outcome is not a training exercise, but a real project that can later be used to attract partners, secure funding, and implement meaningful changes within communities.
To apply, candidates should complete a short application form describing the challenge they wish to address in their community or organisation, explain their motivation, outline any relevant experience, and present their vision for continuing the work after completing the module.
The selection process will focus on applicants’ clear understanding of the identified problem, genuine motivation, the feasibility of the proposed approach, and their commitment to continuing the project beyond the programme.
