eQueue — an online system for booking a place in line to cross the border for international carriers.
Due to the full-scale invasion, Ukraine’s traditional logistics routes were disrupted, leading to the blockade of seaports and a significant shift of transport loads onto land corridors. This surge in road transport resulted in congestion and long lines of trucks at entry points to the EU.
In response to this crisis, our team — including Oleksandr Kubrakov, Mustafa Nayyem, and Andrii Ivko — initiated a project to manage vehicle queues at Ukraine’s international border crossings by implementing the electronic system “Electronic Queue for Border Crossing” — eQueue.
Every step of the queue, from registration to crossing the border, is carefully recorded in the electronic system, reducing the impact of individual vehicles on the queue’s progress.
In May 2024, the eQueue system recorded its first million vehicle border crossings since December 2022. Among them were 921,400 truck crossings and nearly 80,000 bus crossings.
