The bridge over the Desna River, located on the M-01 Kyiv–Chernihiv highway, serves as the southern access route to Chernihiv. The bridge, 168 meters long (with two spans of 84 meters each), was destroyed on March 23, 2022, as a result of an airstrike. After the de-occupation of the Chernihiv region, a decision was made to restore the bridge. The project implementation began in December 2022, and the entire scope of work is planned to be completed by December 2024. Technical supervision of the construction is carried out by an independent international company.
