During the workshop, participants reviewed and discussed a comprehensive study on Ukraine’s Economic Growth Strategy, developed by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in partnership with the Ukrainian Infrastructure Association (UNITE), in collaboration with Ukrainian government institutions and leading representatives of the private sector. The study includes an in-depth analysis of Ukraine’s macroeconomic conditions, sectoral strengths, and potential areas for growth. The document outlines a program of over 350 priority initiatives aimed at achieving long-term sustainable economic recovery in Ukraine.

To ensure thorough analysis, a wide range of data sets and over 100 interviews were used, involving industry experts, Ukrainian and international companies, and representatives of central and regional authorities.
“The breadth and depth of this study are unprecedented and critically important for Ukraine’s future. The recommendations will serve as a guide for both the government and the business community in building a resilient and dynamic economy.”
The analysis shows that for sustainable GDP growth, Ukraine’s economy needs access to affordable financing and insurance, a developed transport infrastructure to support trade, and a sufficient number of skilled workers. Foreign direct investment (FDI) plays a crucial role in achieving significant long-term economic growth, which requires a favorable business environment supported by regulatory reforms and the rule of law. Together, these efforts will form a strong foundation for Ukraine’s long-term prosperity.
BCG added: “This study highlights the importance of targeted investments and the identification of strategic sectoral priorities in Ukraine’s economic recovery. The analysis identifies areas with the greatest potential for growth and sustainable development, which will be key drivers of Ukraine’s recovery.”
A crucial next step will be transforming the Strategy into a detailed Action Plan.
The transformation of the Strategy into a detailed Action Plan will be a key step.
“The independent think tank We Build Ukraine will lead the development and implementation of this Action Plan, taking into account the positions of business associations, local and international companies to present ready-made solutions to the government.”
A series of workshops is planned by the end of the year to continue broad dialogue and collaborative work on addressing the challenges facing Ukraine’s economy.
